Remote Controls, Inc. Offers a
variety of Chemical Finishes to Iron and Steel Parts.
BLACK
OXIDE. An oxide film formed
by exposing iron parts to a hot solution of salts. The
finish is a tight knit, microscopic thin, film that efficiently
traps and retains oil. The entrapped oils provide enhanced
corrosion resistance and provide an attractive Black
finish.
Specifications: AMS-2485,
Mil-C-13924 plus various Customer Specs.
PHOSPHATE COATINGS. RCI offers both Manganese and Zinc
Phosphate coatings. Formed by a chemical reaction between the
process solution and the iron surface, these coatings are prescribed
as a pretreatment for paints, for corrosion resistance, and as a
"break-in" barrier on hardened and close fitting
surfaces.
Specifications: Mil-P-16232,
Mil-DTL-16232, DOD-P-16232, Mil-Std-171, plus various Customer
Specs.
PASSIVATION of Stainless
Steel. Treatment of Stainless Steel surfaces to (a) remove
traces of free iron and (b) produce a PASSIVE or IMMUNE barrier
that inhibits and retards corrosion.
RCI has recently added the
"CITRIC ACID PASSIVATION" process. "Citric Passivation"
provides Equal to Superior "PASSIVATION" while being vastly less
dangerous and environmently harmful than the conventional Nitric
Based processes. Contact us for information on Capacity and
Cost.
